You are correct. I would add that the greediness of continuous growth capitalism (World-Wide) is exactly like drug addiction. And me, as well as many Americans are addicted to comfort even though it may be miserable (ie paycheck to paycheck) its a knowable misery.

The intervention needed looks like it may come from labor as in unions and strikes.
