You could experiment by pairing the exposition to its barest minimum. You are a brilliant thinker obscured by too much and repeated explanation.
This is probably the desire of many writers - to explain. This is much the same as the human ego's need for concrete explanations. Many of the topics your write about are expansive in nature and yet your need to explain kills the mystery of the story and clouds your brilliance. I only write this as a way to make clear your brilliance to the reader - me in this case.
I like the iceberg approach of Hemingway. I have learned much from Ursula K. Le Guin's book "Steering The Craft -A Twenty Century Guide to Sailing the Sea of Story" more about writing fiction though.
