You display finesse in your writing to tamp the message of action as palatable (as opposed to the blunt force approach). I find prayer to be the plea of a child, unschooled in the proper meaning of sacrifice. Are not we all children when we feel initially helpless to deterring a violent act? Thus prayer.

Sacrifice is a cutting away a cherished attachment to make sacred space for a higher or divine will to flow through me. This may be the most personable of actions. Other actions include writing emails, donating, marching in the streets (or supporting marchers in the street).
