You gave me the opportunity to ponder upon the word: better. And I thank you for the challenge to think and respond.

Better seems to be a word based on comparison and belongs to the finite world of goals.

1. An aim is something I can do repeatedly and it is its own reward, therefore it infinite.

For instance my aim is to relieve suffering. As long as there is imperfect life followed by death suffering will never end.

2. a goal has a beginning, middle and end. Goals are finite because they start and finish. A goal can never be an aim. But an aim can produce goals.

When I had no money, was homeless and had little to eat there was no time for aims, survival was my daily goal.

A teaching that I follow: To do spiritual work one must be a good householder (meaning basic needs of food, shelter, and livelihood is established).

What is destiny? Your story never really describes what destiny is. Maybe another story about destiny?
