You make many good points: the fate of the bill with the $15.00/hr. wage increase leading to failure. In some ways the two party system and its history limits choice and maybe contributes to the dumbing down of America along with many other factors. It would appear weโre stuck with it.
I would like to point out that the Corporate (or Big Money) control of politicians appears to like it when nothing gets done to help the people that need it most. They are concerned only when profit structures are threatened and thatโs when they come together over fiscal survival, but begrudgingly.
I made my original point when I was sleep deprived, stressed about money and wanting to ignite some discussion about a 3rd party possibility. Are we at the point where it might work? Not now, me thinks. What might be the time when it may work?
Final Note: When Nixon resigned I felt betrayed by this country that I had been proud of. And since Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Reagan and even Clinton in his second-term government has become less interested in governing and more interested in profit and money as a first thought and helping people as a second thought. Raising money to run is part of politics now and most of us donโt have a say in policy making anymore unless backed by huge checks.
