Your right, there is no clear way out of this mess. One reason I'm all in on the 8 areas of solutions offered by Project Drawndown (did you examine them?). However, there is a weak-willed response from leaders to go all in on the solutions, so your pessimism is justified.

I did watch Moore's last documentary. It put a hole in people looking for the perfect alternatives aka without any fossil fuels. Me, I'm a pragmatist and look for solutions aka to Michael Moore's presentation as a harm-reduction until we can do better.

I believe it may be possible to stave off the worst long enough to develop viable and economically favorably alternatives. But there is no will to carry it forward - presently.
