Though I hated musicals when I was a kid, I love them now, sappy as though that might sound. Especially "The Sound of Music" is my fav.

In "West Side Story" my mother shushed me when I asked where the orchestra was when they sang in the alleyway.

Though when I first saw "Cabaret" I had a major dissociative experience - but years later loved the movie.
